Swami's Sunset

Wow, where to start… Don’t always do reviews but this home deserves one. Literally, the best VR we’ve ever done. We have a month booked for next summer, already. First, the location is absolutely ideal. But my goodness, the ocean views! Stunning, above a cliff, expansive, totally unobstructed and truly 180 degrees. Photos don’t do it justice. It sits up high and there’s a large deck in front with a fire pit that offers amazing views of the Pacific. As does a 2nd deck just steps above. The living room also has gorgeous ocean views. We did not expect this part, but we saw dolphins every day, right along the surf-line near the surfers. But more unexpected, were the whales we spotted one day! There is also a guest “casita” w/ a bedroom where our friends stayed. That provided a nice private area of its own for their own space. I could go on, there’s more, and lots to explore around this great town. Hosts are responsive, helpful and accommodating. This house was perfect for our family weekend. We were close enough to walk to Cardiff or Encinitas and the beach and loved relaxing and hanging out or the house. We will definitely be back.

We loved staying at this home. My daughter lives in Encinitas and it was just a short walk from her home. In addition, the home was located in between Cardiff and Encinitas, both walkable distances. The Rail Trail was a nice daily exercise and the surf was incredible. The home itself had beautiful views it was very nicely decorated and had pretty much everything we needed, especially for cooking. The restaurants in Encinatas were great and easy to walk to. The people at Harcourts were very responsive and friendly anytime we had a question. We will definitely be staying again. We paid for a mid week clean which was really nice and the women who cleaned were lovely. Thank you for a great stay.

While the property is outstanding, well maintained, and exactly what we were looking for, I can’t say enough about Layne and the others at the property management company. Quick helpful responses (even over a holiday) and when the furnace went out, they had a tech there the same day AND high end space heaters delivered. Best hosting experience I’ve had across any rental platform. Made the trip and the few bumps in the road smooth and easy. Highly recommend the house and any home this group manages.

I spent a week at Christmas here with my family of 4 and it was exactly what we were hoping for. The home is really nice and full of character, but our favorite area was the exterior. The front has two large balconies where we sat every day by the firepit and watched the surfers across the street. The back patio has a cozy ambiance with cafe lights and a grill. We used the hot tub nightly and my boys played basketball, corn hole, and ping pong. The interior furnishings are comfortable and adequate for an even larger group. Having two living areas with TVs was a nice touch. The kitchen appliances are top notch and the home has two sets of washer/dryer. The primary bedroom is private, has a comfortable bed, and a perfect view of the ocean. The home has 2 other bedrooms and an attached casita where my oldest son enjoyed staying. A scenic walking path is right across the street, and it's a quick walk to a few restaurants and shops at the Cardiff Towne Center. We loved staying here!

My family and I had a wonderful stay! Such a special spot overlooking the ocean and amazing space in the back was used heavily but the kiddos - pool, hot tub, basketball court, bag toss - so fun! The host was so incredibly helpful and accommodating. The house was fully equipped with anything we could have needed. Felt like our second home. Would love to stay here every summer. Thank you!!

Words can not describe how amazing this home was. The staff was beyond kind and attentive. Close to everything and super gorgeous waking up to the ocean! I will def be back!
